Follow up Ferociously....and by bringing your BEST material each and every day.
Forget "gurus" who tell you to mail once every 3 days, or twice a week or month. Mail something of value EACH and every day for at least 10 days. Do this step before folks sign up....so you have an automated sequence of messages that is guaranteed to go out, rain, snow, or shine.
Have an OUTRAGEOUS offer. This could be a phone call consult with you. It could be an ebook you've written. It could be you talking into a recorder about ANYTHING that you love, have passion for, and matches the marketplace, or community you are creating in. It could be a group coaching environment, or a challenge or contest that your community will pay to join.
The key is, create an OFFER. And price it so that it offers you the opportunity to earn $100 a day. (that could mean selling ONE person a day a $100 offer....or selling one person a MONTH something for $3000)

Pick a high volume niche like diet, dating, divorce or any topic that has tons of traffic, and an evergreen need for content.
Write 10 "how to" style articles that address a major concern within the content community of folks who are most likely to be buyers in this market. For example, you may want to write 10 articles on a specific diet (i.e. - how to save money on XYZ weight loss program"), OR you may want to write more general, generic diet articles, it really doesn't make a difference.
Make sure your articles are at least 400 words, as this is the new standard for most of the bigger article directories.
Go look at the most popular articles in the category you are creating content in. Make a list of 10 authors who are regularly churning out content and either contact them using the information they have created in their author profile, OR, simply sign up for their newsletters, or follow them on twitter and the other social media pages they have set up.
Simply send each person a simple email letting them know you have 10 articles for sale in their niche, each is 400 words plus, of a "how to" variety, and you only want 20 dollars per article.
At least half won't respond at all.
Out of the 30-40% that will, half of THEM will try to negotiate a better rate, or want to see examples of your content. (Send them the BEST one if they want a sample.)
The truth is, content really IS king in the online marketing game, and most niche publishers are SO burned out from creating it......or sick and tired of outsourcing BAD articles, that at least one person in this group WILL give you your asking price, and will be interested in ordering more content from you in the future.
The fact is, if you go into evergreen niches that have TONS of demand, you can do this all day long and really make out extremely well. You have to focus on SPEED of course as well, but as long as you can do 10 articles in 4 hours, you WILL earn $50 an hour, on average, in the big niches.
The REASON is actually quite simple. The people who will be using your content, if they know what they're doing, SHOULD be able to double THEIR money with your content, by using it to promote affiliate offers, using it on their blogs, building their lists, etc. (and to be honest with you, if you REALLY want to earn "BIG" cash online, that's what you should learn how to do, too!)

Who else hasn't yet made their first $1000 online? Are you searching, struggling, flailing and ultimately FAILING to make any real progress with your online business? For example, it's MUCH easier to sell 10 people a $100 personal consulting package than it is to sell 100 ebooks.
And believe it or not, it's actually EASIER to sell 5 people a $200 dollar consulting package than 10 at $100.
Of course at some point there does kick in a level of financial resistance, depending on what you have to offer and the value that it brings, but a good argument could be made that if there is something you are really good at, it makes the MOST sense to simply package it at $1000 and sell 1 person. (with a goal of selling many people that same offer, once you demonstrate you can deliver)
The fact is, the people you hear about making millions of dollars online are almost NEVER doing that with high volume, small ticket items. Instead, they are selling far fewer actual "units" than you would believe... but their prices are so high, that it translates into big, big bucks.
So TOO can you - and in an honest, ethical and contribution oriented business model that values your efforts and abilities AND your bank account to boot!
