One of the worst mistakes you can make, in any undertaking, is thinking you can do everything yourself and solve all your own problems. While this is a macho approach, whether you are male or female, it is also just plain stupid. Everyone one needs someone to explore ideas and concepts with, to see if they are any good, and maybe to learn something new. Its great to use your family members as free mentors and coaches, but it is even better to find an independent third party and pay something. You will get more out of it. For most of my life, I was lucky to have a successful mentor and coach, who was also my friend. It was my Dad. We worked together, played together and brainstormed many successful and sometimes no so successful money making projects. But one day my Dad was not there any more, and the next day (so it seemed), I retired from my profession of a lifetime. But I still needed something to do. I chose online internet advertising, a 20 plus billion dollar industry, in which to make a second career. As I explored the internet, I was bombarded with offers from all types of "mentors" and coaches who offered to guide me through the web waters and save me tons of time learning stuff they already knew. I took a couple of courses and soon realized that I was listening to virtually the same thing over and over again, just in different words and by different people, all with one goal. The goal was to suck as much money out of my pocket as fast as possible, with the internet vacuum cleaner. One day I received a call from a local man who offered to help me with my online business for a very reasonable amount of money. He offered me 6 calls, which actually became 8 calls for $350.00 (Not Bad). I just had my last call this morning, and when I hung up, realized that I had made a friend that I never met. Joel Helfer is an online advertising expert. He is a powerful mentor with over 40 year business experience and can help you create compelling online and offline offers that make you more money. He can be reached at info@customercoupons.com. Search his website http://www.customercoupons.com.
Over a period of six weeks or so,we had our calls, got along well, and built a relationship. I enjoyed these calls so much, that I signed up for a second set for another $350.00. This man actually knew his stuff, was from my generation, and helped me answer my own questions, and even offered useful advice. It was very beneficial to have a stranger , who I have still never met, listen to my ideas and offer his experience and insights. It definitely improved a few aspects of my new online business, and also gave me confidence that I was on the right track.
